Groundwater Pretreatment in Ecuador
An industrial client in Ecuador required a reliable solution to pre-treat groundwater for production use. The raw water exhibited turbidity, sediment, and occasional odor, which posed a risk to downstream processes. The client sought a simple, automatic, and low-maintenance filtration system to improve water quality before further treatment or use. Water flow required at 20m3 per hour.
Our Solution
We supplied a two-stage filtration system consisting of:
1. Multimedia Filter (MMF)
- Function: Removes suspended solids, sediment, iron rust, and particulate matter
- Structure: Top-in/bottom-out FRP pressure vessel
- Filter Media: Quartz sand + graded gravel layers
- Control: Automatic multiport valve with programmable backwash cycles
2. Activated Carbon Filter (ACF)
- Function: Adsorbs residual chlorine, odors, and organic compounds
- Structure: FRP vessel with high-grade coconut shell activated carbon
- Control: Auto-backwash function to ensure extended media life and system reliability
